This year we are back at it and out training. Practices are Monday and Wednesday after school and Saturday mornings. Right now the group is pretty big, which is the usual. It takes a special person to keep coming back, especially when we get up into the higher mileages. We'll keep you posted on their progress. Thanks for tuning in.
J-Town Running Club is a club on the campus of Jordan High School that trains students to run the Los Angeles Marathon. Building character, work ethic, determination and healthy lifestyles, students train three days a week from September to April to complete the 26.2 mile marathon.

Welcome!
Ten years ago I ran my first marathon. From that day I wanted to share the pride and sense of accomplishment with others. Five years ago I started the J-Town Running Club at Jordan High School. Luckily, I was able to convince a colleague to join me in donating their time and energy to training kids to run the 26.2 mile Los Angeles Marathon. When others said we'd be lucky if we got 1 kid out running, we kept pushing. Over the past five years we have run with numerous students, 29 of which have completed the 26.2 mile race. Over 40 have run a half marathon (13.1) and many have trained with us just for fun. It has been an amazing ride. If there are students interested in running just for the "health of it", we will continue to provide them that opportunity.
